3rd Wokingham Methodist Brownie Pack
Brownies are wonderful!
Brownies this term has started in earnest on the new Brownie Programme which was released over the summer. The girls have enjoyed the variety of new activities on the themes of 'Know Myself', 'Express Myself', 'Be Well', 'Have Adventures', 'Take Action' and 'Skills for my Future'. We have travelled round the world, learnt how to use screws and nails, made outfits from rubbish and explored how to get a good night's sleep among other activties this term.
Last term Brownies worked towards a variety of badges on the old programme, including Agility, Brownie Traditions and Science Investigator which included activities such as taste testing honey, Batiking fabric to dye with dyes we made in Brownies and making popcorn over a candle. We also enjoyed some workshops from Life's Little Bugs on Flu and Tummy Bugs and Hum Bug and an evening of decorating cakes.
We really appreciate the fantastic facilities of the Bradbury Centre.
Any girls interested in joining Brownies should register their interest on the Girlguiding website. We do currently have spaces available. We would also heartily welcome anyone who would like to help, either on a regular basis or to teach a particular skill.
