Choir

The Church Choir at Rose Street is the only permanent one in the local Methodist Circuit.
Apart from the month of August and occasional holiday weekends, we meet on a regular basis throughout the year, on a Friday evening from 8:00 till 9:30 approx. As well as leading the singing in our weekly morning services, we try to provide an anthem on a fortnightly basis, supplemented by extra items on special occasions such as Easter and Christmas.
We have a good library of anthems to choose from, both in album and sheet music form, and the decision as to what we sing, and when, is made by our committee formed by a representative from each voice part in the choir and from the organists.
These are all facts. But we all know that the real heart and soul of the choir is the joy and pleasure we get from our music, amply demonstrated by the fact that attendances rarely fall below 70% and generally lead to a well-balanced four-part ensemble. However, all that is missing at this time is a regular conductor. If anyone reading this item would like to consider the post, we would be very keen to talk to you. Similarly for anyone interested in coming along to join the choir, especially in the soprano section and those who would lower the average age.
